2026-08-15Hello!An older gentleman named John came up to me and said he found a "water snake". He pointed to it, curling around a branch hanging over the creek. I tried to capture a photograph of this snake, but it was too obstructed by other twigs and leaves.His name isn't actually John, by the way. But that doesn't matter. He's been looking out for wildlife in this area for years as well, and used to spot a snakes and frogs every time. Now, they're an unusual encounter at best.Usually here during springtime, he said the best time to see frogs and tadpoles were in the morning of spring season. But this year, he hadn't spotted any.He noted that the woods were due for another shower any minute now, and I noticed the sky getting darker with thicker clouds.
