I’ve been a fan of football (soccer) for almost as long as I remember. I remember going to my first match at Anfield when I was seven years old in 1997. A pretty dull 0-0 draw from what I recall. Despite the scoreline I was hooked. The atmosphere. The excitement. The chips with my Dad on the walk home. I loved it. I’ve been a fan ever since. Although I haven’t been to a Premier League match in years (tickets are hard to get and too expensive now) I’ve still watched almost every game I could. Whether it involved my team or not. There would always be a familiar buzz about this time of year with the excitement for the new season ahead. I don’t feel it this year. For the first time in as long as I can remember, I just don’t feel the excitement or passion that I usually would. I’ll still keep an eye on things. I might be completely turned around in a few months and loving it but right now I just don’t feel it. I’m not sure why that is. My team isn’t in the best shape right now but that’s…
