Chinese Spy Peter Wai Performed At The Lord Mayor’s Show, After Wai’s Arrest His Chung Ching Dragon Dancers Were Still Participating In This City Of London Event

Earlier this week a report by UK China Transparency (UKCT) entitled The Alleged Underworld Boss Close To The Chinese Embassy In London was picked up the Daily Mail, who reworked the research within it to create their story Meet ‘Brother Cow’, The Millionaire Restaurant Tycoon & Alleged Mobster Who Is Said To Be Spreading His Influence From London’s Chinatown. Both pieces focused on connections between shadow economies and the apparent use of organised crime figures by the Chinese government to push its influence abroad and terrorise pro-democracy Hong Kong dissidents in the UK. The alleged underworld boss and supposed 14K triad leader featured in these articles is To Ming Lam AKA Brother Cow. Both reports mention in passing that the now convicted Chinese spy Chi Leung Wai AKA Peter Wai ‘led a dragon dance troupe sponsored by Lam’s Bang Bang Oriental Foodhall in Colindale’ when they performed at the Lord Mayor’s Show and elsewhere.
