I'm guessing it is widespread in the U.S., but do other countries allow people to plaster their name and cheesy slogans on placards that cover every available space at an intersection? It feels like we spend a majority of the year subjected to a subliminal effort to get voters to recognize a name on their ballot. "Hmm. I don't know anything about any of these candidates, but I do recognize that name from the giant piece of corrugated plastic that obstructed my view at Tenth and Lakeshore." The slogans are as obnoxious as the signs themselves. _______ (insert politician's name) will fix it. Forgive me for being skeptical, but "it" doesn't seem very specific. And, I have zero confidence that (insert politician's name) will do much, if any, "fixing." Will audit fraud. I hope fraud is aware it is being audited.
