It was the 23rd of August 2016 when the three of us in this household packed up and began our trek from NSW (where all of us where born and raised) to Victoria to begin our lives anew. It was a journey that had been in the works for years now, after all of us had come to a crisis point. Mum was burnt out from being abused in the workplace by jerks. My brother traumatised from being caught in the middle of a squabble between two “bosses” and subsequently, abused by one of them to get at the other. And I…was deeply anxious. Severely depressed. And borderline agoraphobic. And through all this we were caring for my grandmother who was dying very very slowly. It was when my own problems had finally fermented into a grandiose explosion that we came up with a plan: both of us go back to school. Accounting for me. Pharmacy for my brother.
