Beach stairs, Argyle Shore Provincial Park 0 ▲ misterchrisjones.ca | All posts 2 hours ago · Life · hide · 0 comments The beach was a short walk from where I was staying so it was easy to get to and explore. It’s a day-use-only park so no camping, but it’s a good spot to spend a hot day as it’s not at all busy, just keep an eye out for the tide. I’m always intrigued by the contrast of formal, geometric, man-made structures like these stairs against the natural surroundings they’re placed in. The cliffs are eroding and change constantly after every season and storm but the stairs remain strong and rigid against the forces. Because of the cliffs, the beach isn’t accessible at this point from above unless you’re OK with ropes and climbing gear so it’s nice there are stairs to help people up and down and to prevent the inevitable damage that would be caused by people making their own way to the beach. It was a nice stroll along the red sand with a few people enjoying a hot day out on the water and some very excited tourists who seemed absolutely awestruck by what they were seeing.
