Week 34

This week was mainly occupied by the first phase of my farewell to NDL|GDS tour – spending three days (ish) in Whitechapel. Honestly it was really nice. I bumped into a bunch of lovely people, had some really interesting conversations, overheard some useful stuff, ate some great grub, went out for a (alcohol free) beer and a gossip with a colleague…I even felt useful a couple of times – like I was actually contributing. It felt like the before times. I know it is an unpopular opinion but I genuinely miss being co-located in an office with the team you are actually working with. I enjoy going to the Bristol office but there has never been anyone else from my team(s) there really so you end up just on Teams calls all day anyway – just with more background noise and closer to better lunch options (which is worth it much of the time!).
