I tried Velaxin (venlafaxine) first, which a neurologist prescribed, but it’s not exactly recommended for beginners. It caused very intense side effects for me, so I instead asked my GP for a more basic SSRI. I’ve been anxious and worried about every little thing my entire life, even though I have everything I could ask for. I had a wonderful childhood, my parents gave me everything, and now everything is great too, especially since I have my own family. Still, I’ve been anxious and worried since childhood, and on top of that I have extreme health anxiety, which is why I never dared to start taking SSRIs. I’ve already gone down an incredible number of neurological rabbit holes, which have taken up a huge amount of my energy. I also have MDDS, BPPV, and PPPD.
