Still More Stories from Grandma’s Attic by Arleta Richardson, 1980, 2011. The Grandma’s Attic series by Arleta Richardson is based on her grandmother’s reminiscences about life growing up on a farm in Michigan during the 1800s. This is the third book in the series, and like the first two, it’s a collection of short stories. Each of the stories are framed as a story being told by the grandmother to the granddaughter about something that happened when she was young, inspired by something the granddaughter is experiencing in her life. Some of them are funny stories, others are though-provoking, and many of them have a moral or life lesson to them. The grandmother, Mabel O’Dell, has two older brothers and a best friend, named Sarah Jane, and many of the stories center around things they did as children.
