I bought a sweatshirt from his shop, and we talked skateboarding for the next twenty minutes, talking about the tempe ramp and Kevin Staab… Dude was super nice and his friend Mike Schroll was running this amazing clothing shop called Costodians of the Sea. I scored an environmentally friendly sweatshirt with ink made from locally sourced seaweed. It sounds cheesy, but those guys were legit and super nice. We spoke about many mutual skater friends and how Gator actually killed his (Kelly’s) girlfriend, not just a random name. So sad and shocking. Kelly spoke about how the Tempe ramp back in 87 was the inspiration for them to build a big old ramp back in San Diego in Oceanside, it was great to hear him reminisce about coming out to Arizona to skate and we talked about skating with su ch legends as Tony magnusen, Lester… No comments yet.
