2026/08/20 Thursday I was working with my cousin this weekend, we were listening to this mixed playlist I made, a guy had recommended some modern [Brazilian] rap groups to me because I have no idea of what came out in the last 20 years. Rap now is very mainstream and it's pure crap, the rap I knew wouldn't play on TV or big radio stations, it was too disturbing, the lyrics were very heavy on social issues, and the crap that would appear on TV were viewed as badly by hip-hop fans as punks would view crap like Blink 182... anyway, this guy showed me some new real rap, I'm not such a big fan of the genre but there were some cool stuff, one I really liked though had a very 80s/90s style, FBC, and I had put one of his songs on the playlist, Você Pra Mim é Lucro. My cousin commented he had never heard "that version", so asked what he meant, turns out that chorus is from another song, Lucro from a reggae group called BaianaSystem his wife likes, he thought this was the original but this song…
