All Flesh Is Grass

One of my favorite games ever designed is getting a new edition. Apart from some component upgrades and better availability, nothing has changed. Which is precisely what this title needed. So come on in. The tea’s hot and the fire is crackling. HA HA. You just scalded your tongue. That means I’m the winner. It also means today’s game is Schadenfreude, the most joyously nasty trick-taker out there. If you know Schadenfreude, you know this is one wacky hand. I’m convinced that Schadenfreude is the best “pure” trick-taker ever crafted. Designed by the mysterious ctr, historically this one has been hard to nab. Not so any longer, because the new edition is coming via Office Dog, the same studio that brought us the Lord of the Rings trick-takers, Fellowship and Two Towers, both of which are lovely. As I noted in my original review, Schadenfreude unfurls like a joke that keeps on giving. It’s comparatively bare of ornamentation, nothing like some of my personal favorites of the genre. The…
