For fun, I thought I'd revisit baty.blog 0 ▲ baty.net 2 hours ago · Tech · hide · 0 comments I accidentally logged into baty.blog's admin and said, "SQUIRREL!", and spent time taking another look at the site. Who knows, I might start using it again. Baty.blog runs on Pure Blog, by Kev Quirk. When Kev first announced Pure Blog, I (of course) tried it immediately. We got along well, right off the bat. Pure Blog is written in PHP, so it's simple to install nearly anywhere. It uses plain-text Markdown files instead of a database. It did all the basics that a blogging CMS should do. It aimed to be simple-but-not-too-simple. At the time, I found it to be a little too simple, so I abandoned it, meaning to check on it again, later. It's later. A lot has changed since I last used v1.2.0. Kev's been busy! Anyway, things looked stable and it had gotten important fixes and updates, so I upgraded both Pure Blog and my Pure Comments instance. I wired up comment emails, since Pure Comments can now use regular ol' SMTP (it used to be only AWS SES, gross). I have cleaned up the layout I was… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse.
