working on the slatsGetting the length between the rails and adding 5/8" for the mortises. I sawed the length of the slats 1/8" less then the OAL.3 down with 2 to goCleaned up the four edges of the slats with planes and then fitted the top mortises first. For the most part the mortises were fairly close and I only lost one slat. I had planed it like the previous 4 but it came up short on the R/L of the mortise. I checked and it was too loose for the remaining 6 mortises. first side done (right)I got the bottom rail on backwards but it didn't matter because the dowel holes are centered on the ends. I'll correct this when I do the glue up. left side slatsWash, rinse, and repeat for the other side assembly.I'm not coughing much in the shop but it still happens. I have noticed that I am a lot slower than I used to be. Not helping much with me pulling my head out of my arse and making stupid me-steaks though. (like above) Working slower and not as long anymore. But as long as I can trot…
