single frame: Rambler Ambassador

Rambler AmbassadorApple iPhone 17e2026 I went to a car show not long ago and made my usual kinds of detail photos on film. Look for them here soon. I was thrilled to come upon this 1966 Rambler Ambassador 990 hardtop. I’ve never seen one in the metal before. When I grew up, Ramblers were not uncommon sights, but most of them were Americans and Classics. I remember those as having been small cars. But this Ambassador rode on the same wheelbase as the Classic, and I believe the two cars shared some body panels. Standing next to this Ambassador I was struck by how large it was. Maybe my memory is just faulty after 50 years, or maybe I’m comparing this Ambassador to modern sedans, which aren’t as leviathan as the standard cars of my youth.
