08.10 – 08.16

Life Ηη ran headlong into a zip line platform on Monday and split his eyebrow open necessitating a trip to A&E. He was braver than usual but fairly gutted to learn that it meant no more swimming for the week. At least Σσ was able to get his planned swimming lessons refunded. We went to the Parliament Hill paddling pool and playground on Wednesday evening, the scaled the hill to join the eclipse party. Σσ had had the presence of mind to get us all proper eyewear. It was a bit too long and too late for Αα but she was a trooper. Ηη was really engaged for pretty much the whole time which was great. I enjoyed the extreme sense of my insignificance being amplified by the celestial events. Really puts refactoring the IIIF image viewer into perspective. Wednesday rolled round and the builders weren’t finished in the flat. The excuse given is that the bathroom tiles are all slightly different sizes. I don’t dispute this fact, but they have known this about the tiles for more than two months…
