In December 2025, when my uncle was being discharged from rehab, the rehab facility sent AdaptHealth a prescription for a commode to be delivered to my uncle’s apartment, because they felt using a commode would be safer for my uncle than using the toilet. AdaptHealth called my uncle about the prescription, and that call was forwarded to me since my uncle was still in the hospital. They said on the call that the insurance company denied the request for a commode because my uncle already had one. I told them the commode he already had was broken and needed to be repaired. They said I should call them back after he got out of the hospital and they would send out a technician to fix it. After my uncle was discharged I followed their instructions and called them to request a repair. This time they said they couldn’t do it (why did they tell me earlier in the month that they could?) and I needed to call the insurance company.
