High gas and oil prices may be hard on working class people, and on supply chains, but they’re good for progress on the climate crisis. I’m optimistic that cheap EVs from BYD, Slate, etc will help both sides of this tradeoff. Ideally gas and oil prices should increase due to price on carbon regulations, not just macro events like wars or inflation, but I’ll take what I can get.
