APHEX TWIN Pic by: Steve Double Dangerous Didgeridoo Aphex Twin I DON’T know, some bloody odd trends crop up in the wondrous world of techno. A recent one has been the use of that amazing aboriginal wind instrument, the didgeridoo. Yothu Yindi, the first minute of E Lustrious, that thing on red vinyl by Martin Lever, and now the ultimate tribute: ‘Didgeridoo’ by The Aphex Twin on Belgium’s R & S techno label. The original white label version weighed in at a truly incredible 155 bpm to the applause of techno-rave pundits lucky enough to snap up a copy. The Aphex Twin is 20 year old Richard James, a recent arrival to London from Cornwall.
