Every year, puzzle game developer Draknek & Friends offers a $15000 USD grant to developers from "traditionally underrepresented groups and backgrounds who are interested in designing and developing puzzle games." You can see their page about the grant here! The grant provides access to both money and to expert mentorship. Draknek's definition of traditionally underrepresented is very broad, and includes people with marginalized religious beliefs, racial identities, genders, sexualities, and disabilities, as well as people who develop puzzle games in countries which are underserved by the western games industry. If that's you, and you have a hankering to finish and ship a puzzle (or "thinky") game, you should apply! Their definition for puzzle games is similarly broad and could include, for example, narrative puzzle games. They're taking applications until September 27.
