So here it is, along with thoughts on the upcoming reduction in England’s fare cap from £3 back to £2 from January 2027. I’m all for using price as a way to encourage passengers. It’s the modus operandi of the retail world and transport should be no different. The airlines have done it for years – RyanAir’s whole business model is about price as are high end quality retailers such as Harrods and Saint Laurent.
