This post is a response to My perfect laptop by Michael Harley. In short, the Framework 13 is essentially my perfect laptop, or damn near close to it. And I'm lucky enough to actually use it as my daily driver; it comes with me practically everywhere from bed to the train to overseas. I want to sing its praises a bit and list what boxes it checks for me, and also talk about what could be a bit improved. I have very strong opinions about the tools I use. I use Emacs for most of my computing precisely for this reason: because I can modify it to get the exact behaviour I want. So even though the Framework is basically as good as I can really get at the moment, the grass is always greener in my head. For context, throughout my life I've used the following laptops in one way or another (though it's been too long for me to remember the model numbers for some): Toshiba Satellite (maybe T3400?)
