Torn Between Analog Or Digital 0 ▲ JASON JOURNALS 2 hours ago · Life · hide · 0 comments I thought and hoped that this time I’d settle into the analog lifestyle. But digital called me back again. So now I’m intentionally using some apps as a bullet-journal replacement. Whether you go analog or digital, there are trade-offs. I’m just a little torn between the two, wanting the best of both worlds — impossible. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Why’d I let go of my paper notebook? I guess the novelty wore off a bit. The buzz from the stationery bug-bite fizzed out. And while intimate and satisfying, handwriting is a little tiring at times. I was also using up a lot of paper fast. I tried succinct “bullet” entries, tightening up my writing, but I still often journaled paragraphs. Thinking ahead, I don’t want boxes or shelves full of physical notebooks. So some of the downsides of analog planning/journaling became more apparent in the past eight weeks. Surprising? Nope. Been there, done that.
