In my twenties I desperately wanted to go to London, but it was so ridiculously expensive to travel there. Eventually I figured out l the cheapest way possible: travel to Dunkirk (or was it Calais?) with a bus company and then take a hovercraft. (Noisiest travel ever, you couldn’t hear yourself think!) I also had the cheapest accommodation ever, a bed in the student housing of one of London’s Universities. It was next to Regent Park. Staying there was mostly awesome! As it was a student house and I was a resident, albeit for just four days, I had all the benefits. I could buy dirt cheap theatre tickets, get discounts on all sorts of attractions and had free breakfast and dinner. I shared my room with 6 Spanish girls, all there to study at the nearby university, all different kinds of areas of study if I remember correctly.
