I chose “Plainsong” by The Cure from Thamara’s list. Thamara chose Gimme Sympathy from my list. You can read Thamara’s post for the challenge on his website.The Cure’s Plainsong starts with an instrumental that is both enchanting and somewhat spooky. In the first twenty seconds or so, wind chimes (according to Wikipedia; I thought the sound was made by bells at first) play. This is then followed by more instrumental music that feels much more welcoming. “Welcoming” is not usually an attribute I would give to a song, but it feels like just the right word to describe Plainsong.I was surprised that the instrumental music lasted until around 2m38s before voices, overlapping, and eerie, then started to sing. The lyrics are melancholy, but the words haven’t sunk in yet. I have listened to the song several times but each time I am more caught up in… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse.
