A reader pointed out that in my second assignment, I sort of waved off the question of “What does validation look like?” My protagonist was, to be fair, quite snarky in telling the professor what validation would look like. Thus, I am submitting this brief reflection for extra credit (or for full credit since I lost credit points by being dismissive of the question). I created this programme and am working my way through it as a way to offer myself validation. There is no doubt that I could obtain a “real” Masters in Creative Writing if I were so inclined and willing to pay for the privilege. There is no doubt that I should already feel validated. I have a grab bag of awesome accomplishments, which validate odds and ends of a rich and full human life. I’ve won awards and stood on stages and have certifications, credentials and degrees.
