AI-Assisted programming has added certain words and phrases to my technical vocabulary. Some of these are fine, most of them make me wince. They are, however, useful when talking to a clanker. All the clankers seem to understand the intent behind these words and phrases really well. Even if I actively avoid using them, they always manage to sneak into my context window eventually. Here's my list: Gate - "gating a feature", "gating behind a feature flag" Harden - "hardening auth", "hardening the billing flow" Audit - "audit this feature", "audit dependencies" Reconcile - "reconcile stream on resume" Blast Radius - "what will the blast radius of this change be?" I'll keeping updating this post as I discover more LLM vocabulary. Last edited: 17th Aug, 2026
