Weekly digest 71

It’s the middle of the month. I think I’ve posted 12 times? Considering I was aiming for 15, pretty good going. I’m really tired. Happenings My wife started her new job this week, and it’s going well, so I’ve been on childcare most days. I started teaching my eldest child to read, using some handed-down early reading books. He’s doing really well; after 4 short sessions he can read one of them all the way through. It made me really happy. Next week we start the next one. It was my youngest’s second birthday. We stayed up until midnight the night before decorating his cake, and took him to the park with family for a picnic. Great day. Good picnic. He was a bit overwhelmed by the end though, and we’ve had sleep difficulties since.[1] One of my projects is turning out pretty crappy. I’m trying to make a simple record player stand out of MDF. I’ve never really done “carpentry” before, but it’s hard. The pieces are all cut right, but joining them and painting them actually nicely is not…
