Seeing Agnes again and a bumper blackcurrant harvest

Every week for the past month I’ve been trying to catch a brown pigeon with awful string foot. I have spotted her a couple of times but she remains on the edge of the flock, too far away to attempt a catch. It’s so depressing as she’s clearly in agony. I have, however, seen Agnes a few times now and she looks marvellous! Her feet will always look a little odd but this makes her immediately recognisable to me. I photographed and examined those feet under a microscope so many times that the shape is forever etched in my mind. Here’s a photo I took of her yesterday and last Monday. Someone else also spotted her and sent me some even better photos. She’s famous! She’s such a pretty thing. Even without the funny feet she’s recognisable by the white speck she has between her eyes and beak. Daniel helped me at the allotment today ferrying wheelbarrow loads of wood chips. It’s looking very tidy. I’ve had a bumper crop of blackcurrants and surprisingly the birds have left them largely…
