Scrolling Social Media

There’s a couple of different ways to use social media. There’s obviously a big dichotomy between posting and scrolling. Some people only care about posting and don’t care as much about the scrolling. Lots of people (probably the majority of people who use it) are the opposite, they’re there to scroll, not post. But even among the scrollers I feel like there’s at least two different philosophies about the social media feed: There’s people who want to “catch up” with the posts, specifically on the Following feed, to stay “up-to-date” with what went up since the last time they logged in. There’s people who don’t care about “catching up” at all, and just want another scoop of social media content with no defined beginning or end. I’ve come to accept that I think I’m in that first category. I’m not sure if there’s a generational divide here.
