Unclean Spirits (Gods & Monsters #1), by Chuck Wendig

If you've read American Gods, this is really very similar, albeit focused more on action and less on mythology. Same rascally male character with an uncertain origin discovering a world of gods, monsters and that they're kind of the same thing. I don't know why it's called Unclean Spirits. Truly it makes no sense to me after reading the book, but I guess it needed a title. Chuck Wendig is a decent writer, you root for the character and you can really feel the world in which things happen. The ending felt a little rushed. What's different between American Gods and Gods & Monsters is that the latter is a multi author universe, with books written by different people in the same world. I always liked this concept and if I were into the premise I would want to read all of the books. Yet, I don't want to go further.
