A mockumentary that follows a film crew sent to document the life of a lonely aristocrat, Lady Isabella (Sian Clifford). For the first 10 minutes you get comfortable with the idea that this is going to be a David Brent style character living in a huge stately home, in desperate need of attention and lacking in all self-awareness. And it’s funny! But then the film goes wildly off the rails and gets much more interesting. Lady Isabella literally begins to turn invisible and the film crew don’t quite know what to do with themselves. And it’s still funny! When the film reveals its true self we see a tender and empathetic exploration of loneliness, grief, generational wealth and self-expression. All through the lens of a magical realist cinéma vérité style documentary. And it’s still funny! But we aren’t laughing at Lady Isabella any more. If you can get out to see this while it’s still on, I would. Reply by email No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
