Websites as Art

Last month Sssluke asked about websites that are created as artworks themselves. Not about art, the actual art. I’ve written before about the early net.art movement in which a bunch of artists looked at the (at that time) new word wide web as a medium itself, browsers as canvas and html as paint, and asked what that enable. It’s a really deep rabbit hole and I love that people are still exploring it. I kept finding myself going back to Sssluke’s thread trying to find links I’d missed and decided I’d just compile them and put them in an list so I could more easily keep track of what I’d seen and missed, and revisit them without starting from scratch. I thought maybe others would enjoy the list too, so posting it here for anyone who wants it.
