This is the picture from 2022, shot very similarly but with different cameras. Whenever I encounter scenes like this, I’m compelled to make dramatic leading line images. Changing it to black and white adds a level of abstraction that usually makes the picture even more exciting. I’m using a 24mm equivalent on my Leica D-Lux compared to a 35mm equivalent on the previous picture made with the Fujifilm X100V. The wider angle should’ve created a more dramatic leading line effect, except that having a passenger closer to the camera has negated that impact. Back when I shot the 2022 image, the world was getting out of COVID, and train ridership from this station was sparse. I was a bit concerned for my safety.
