MegaFlash Arrived

My toy arrived this morning and I immediately had to install it. While I had the IIc Plus open, I checked the motherboard to see which of two different motherboard versions it was. Happily, it's the one that is easily overclocked by swapping out a crystal. "Easily" being a relative term. The crystal is soldered to the motherboard, but that's not the hardest job to do. I'll probably still have to wait until we finish the house and I can have a workstation set up where I'll be more likely to get it right and not make Mitzi unhappy by taking over the kitchen table. As it is, it runs at 4MHz, which is four times the speed of the other 8-bit Apple IIs, and the fastest Apple II ever manufactured. The GS runs at 2.8Mhz, though it does have a 16-bit cpu and vastly larger address space. The MegaFlash includes a modified ROM to control the features of the board, which includes a facility to intercept some floating point routine calls in Applesoft BASIC, mostly the transcendental functions.
