phoebe bridgers' lost weekend

as I write this I am halfway through the second listen of Phoebe Bridgers' latest album, Lost Weekend. I am biased, of course, but I love it already. I rode my bike down the Los Angeles beach path this morning and got coffee and a breakfast burrito, then realized that since I was taking work off today already I might as well use this time to listen to Phoebe's latest and continue southward. The album feels like a creative exhale from the tension of Punisher. It's a bit more refined, it's almost even optimistic. Punisher was a pandemic album for me, even if it wasn't written during it. It released in 2019, right around when I moved down to southern California. Phoebe Bridgers is also from socal, to my understanding. I know that she's written a lot about being in the same place as Elliot Smith was, that angel of 90s indie. A lot of the album is about being in love.
