Aleyara’s saga continues!

Two bits of news on the Biauru front today. One, “Skin in the Game,” the previously announced sequel to “Aleyara’s Descent” and “Aleyara’s Flight,” is scheduled to appear in the January/February 2027 issue of Analog Science Fiction and Fact, which will most likely go on sale in December 2026. The second, more exciting news is that I’ve just sold the fourth Aleyara story! “If Even Stars Can Die” is another novella-length tale bringing the saga of Aleyara and her fellow Descenders to its climax (though I still hope to tell more stories further forward in Rulenau’s history). It’s an epic tale of discovery, tragedy, and conflict expanding into whole new regions of the Biauru’s beautiful and dangerous world, and facing Aleyara and her friends and family with their greatest crisis yet. Once this climactic story is published, I’ll have enough material to compile the four stories into a fixup novel, probably including many of my supplementary worldbuilding notes as an appendix.
