2026 Week 33 Digest

This is a work week for me, however I have managed to get a couple things done. Duplicati started throwing errors so I finally took the time to go back through my backup research and picked out [Backrest])(https://github.com/garethgeorge/backrest) (GUI for restic) to try. I was able to get it set up alright and it's now my daily laptop backup solution. It's very, very fast after the first backup so I don't regret leaving duplicati at all. And much easier to set up than Borg. Next time I have to do an erase and reinstall we'll really see how good it is though. There are also some UX issues I have such if you set a fixed time for the backup to run, but the computer is off/asleep during that time, it just won't run. And it won't show an error or anything, there just won't be a backup for that day. You're supposed to set up 'hooks' to deal with this but uh I don't use that kind of thing and I'm not setting it up just for this. I've also managed to at least install Picard and Krokiet on…
