I watched this episode last night with volume low, subtitles on, with the Transporter Room 3 podcast Patreon-only audio commentary. I don't remember very much about this episode; I know that on first-run, I would have turned 7 years old barely 2 weeks earlier, so I was certainly old enough to have seen it on first-run. But the most I remember is Beverly shouting, "We need REM sleep!" and the creepy body bags rising in the cargo bay morgue. The episode is very reminiscent of Strange New Worlds' season 4 episode "The Griffin Incident" (or the other way around, I suppose). I don't think it's a direct homage to "Night Terrors" nor were they thinking of TNG when they wrote it. There were some really creepy moments in the episode (and one DARK moment when Worf is about to kill himself in ritual suicide), it was well-directed and shot, but the pacing was very off. Apparently they had to shave 9 minutes… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
