Well, okay…I’ll admit that it’s a bit click-baity, because they have yet to beat me. And I’m actually not all that good at chess myself. But I’m seriously impressed at how quickly they’ve picked it up. I think I was 10 or 11 when I first learned chess, first from a friend that I met on vacation and later from my grandpa. I eventually got good enough to consistently beat my grandpa, but that was a long time ago and I’ve lost tons of games since then.1 Anyway, my kids found chess in one of those “500 games in one box” set that I just assume everybody knows and has at home. Especially my older son was interested in learning the game. He found the game about a year ago, when he was still 5 and I thought it was too early to learn such a complex game. But nevertheless, I sat down and explained to him how the individual pieces moved and how the game works. We put the game away soon after, because he got really… No comments yet.
