This is another catch-up post while I’m busy working through Season of Scenery bits and pieces. No World Cup to watch now while I’m typing so it doesn’t take as long to do! It’s just over two years (yikes!) since I did an update on my Second Afghan War project and even that was just about shuffling figures about in their box! This time round, though, I’ve actually got some figures painted (if you look here you can read about the earliest stages of this project). The first 20mm figures I painted many years ago are shown above. These were all converted from B & B Miniatures Russian Civil War figures, mainly through the addition of a Turcoman-style hat made from Milliput. They’re also from the days when I painted eyes on 20mm figures – the officer looks a bit pop-eyed in this picture but it’s not really noticeable on the figure itself! Since Newline Designs introduced their 20mm Afghan range, I had the chance to buy some proper figures. In the picture above, my original conversions are…
