Leaving Agile Behind: Our Move to EDF FreePhase Dynamic

We'd been long term Octopus Agile customers even though it wasn't tailored to us as we don't have solar or battery storage. I'd started to think about looking at alternatives but never got very far with it. Switch to EDF using my link, and we both get £50 credit applied to our accounts. However EDF have launched a new time-of-use tariff recently called "FreePhase" which got my attention. The tariff is a condensed version of Agile, split into 3 bands per day instead of Octopus's 48. This smooths out the spikes that occur with Agile over peak periods. The dynamic version updates rates daily based on the electricity market or you can opt for a static version with fixed rates. Another major benefit is the time periods being clearly defined - peak is 4pm to 7pm, medium is 6am to 4pm, and 7pm-11pm, and off-peak is 11pm to 6am.
