Day 181: Skin Scraping

2026-08-06Hello!Don't do this. Don't scratch the bark off trees to write names and notes. It's as bad as throwing keys into a river after attaching a lock to a photogenic bridge in the name of love.It injures the tree's health, and while I'm not well-versed in nature and biology, I can find plenty of articles advocating against tree carving. It seems to expose the tree to disease and goes against the hiker's outdoors rule of leaving no trace.Plus it looks ugly.Finally, it's not Valentine's Day.
