The Glitter of High End Retail 0 ▲ atmtx photo blog 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments Interior, The Shops at Hudson Yards – New York, New York I’m not familiar with all of these stores, but I recognize some of them, so I know this is the high-end section of the mall. It was on the first floor, just as you pass through the main entrance. If you need more evidence of their upscale positioning, peek through the windows and appreciate the level of interior design. Beyond the level of finishing, I’ve discovered a simple rule in retail. The less merchandise displayed with a large open floor space, the fancier the store is. Reference Target or Walmart, where the items are in close proximity. Then go to a Goodwill Store, and all you can see are racks and racks of clothing stuffed to the gills. I like making pictures of these places because the stores and malls invest considerable resources to make them look wonderful. A good-looking store makes people feel good, so they spend a lot of money. Lucky for me, I appreciate their designs but don’t often open my wallet. Blog readers,… No comments yet.
