I’ve previously waxed enthusiastic on here about Mothership, having been very pleased with my hauls from Tuesday Knight Games’ Kickstarter for the 1st edition boxed set and supporting material and Anodyne Printworks’ Hull Breach Kickstarter for more supplemental goodies. Clearly, I’m not alone in loving it – after all, if I were none of those Kickstarters would have succeeded. Indeed, arguably Mothership has become what you could call a “crowdfunding darling” – the sort of game where there’s enough enthusiasm among potential backers to set up a small cottage industry of first-party and third-party support around it, with numerous crowdfunding campaigns surrounding it (especially during “Mothership Month”. Some of these have been not so successful – I’m still waiting on the rewards from the third-party project Orbital Blues, which seems to have stalled after some worrying messages from the project owner.
