Meteors Shower, one might say! Long exposure of the stars from the 2017 shower; you can see one (1) streak on the right side Since I was a small child, a thing I looked forward to every year is a near-end of summer tradition where we'd go out into the backyard on a blanket or a sleeping bag and watching the sky during the peak hours of the motherfucking Perseid meteor shower. This has had mixed success over the years! It's always a goddamn good time; sometimes you get like 1-2 sightings, sometimes its fucking bonkers starpocalypse but it's always somewhat magical. When I started doing this with my kids we had a run of bad luck where nearly every time it was peak viewing and not cloudy outside, it was also on or near a full moon which like, absolutely torpedos the visibility.
