59 0 ▲ Down the Road 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments On the first day of my 60th year, I’m thinking about how we report our age as the last year of life we completed, rather than the one we’re now living. US 40, the old National Road, in Brazil, Indiana I’m also thinking about the year I just completed. I’m grateful for much of what I experienced during it. We largely settled into new routines in our new home. And because I was blessed to work part time for about my usual full-time pay, I had time to process and reflect on my life since roughly the beginning of the pandemic. I had been living inside that life so intensely that I let too much accumulate unprocessed and unreflected. This has never been good for me. I need to keep a cleaner slate so I can stay emotionally balanced and stay effective in what I do. I’m further thinking about the year I’m entering.
