There are artists whose work gradually becomes a body of theatre, and there are artists whose work gradually become a body of autobiography. Bryony Kimmings belongs firmly in the latter camp. Across a career spanning more than two decades, she has repeatedly turned her own life into theatrical material, inviting audiences into her anxieties, relationships, family life and failures. Each new show feels less like a standalone production and more like another volume in an ongoing memoir. The advantage is that audiences develop a genuine relationship with her.
