Rules for making a playlist

Curating a collection of music for a loved one to listen to is a time-honoured tradition, becoming accessible and a huge part of pop culture around the time cassette tapes and home-recording became possible. With the rise of music streaming, we mostly make playlists on Deezer or whatever now, sending a link to it instead of transferring a physical object. I deeply enjoy making playlists, so I’ve had a lot of time to think about what I think about when I make one. I have favourites sometimes, and this prevents me from just stuffing the playlist with their songs. It either has a specific mood: that is, it tries to evoke a certain emotion. If it is intended to switch between emotions, the shifts should be gradual and smooth. Medium length, between 20 to 45 minutes.
