A Touch of the Suburbs in the Heart of NYC 0 ▲ atmtx photo blog 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments Interior, The Shops at Hudson Yards – New York, New York After dinner, we did some recreational retailing. Though it was only the window-shopping variety. He didn’t buy anything. However, it was fun, easy, and comfortable. It was like being in the suburbs in the heart of New York City. The stores conveniently started one level above the Mercado Little Spain. The Shops at Hudson Yards has an eclectic mix of retail from very upscale jewelers to everyday-casual clothing stores. Architecturally, it’s more vertically oriented rather than the long horizontal corridors typical in the Suburbs where the land is less expensive. As you can see, it has a polished, shiny appearance, though not gaudy. However, I’m not sure how it will age. The mirrored surfaces and angled architecture offered visual excitement that made taking pictures more interesting. Blog readers, you’ll love my free monthly photography magazine.
